Next Meeting: November 21, 2019 7pm!

Come hang out with like-minded libertarians as we discuss the political issues of the day and our role in it. Social hour starts at 6pm and the meeting starts at 7pm on Thursday, November 21st.

As always, our meeting are free, all ages, and open to the public. It’s $5 burger night and they have a wide selection of craft beer on tap, so why not join us for dinner and political discussion?

Our speaker for November will be Abe Mashal. Mashal is a resident of St. Charles, IL, and is a Muslim, Marine, father, business owner among many things. In 2010, just as his business, Always Faithful Dog Training, was taking off, Mashal was grounded from a routine flight out of Midway Airport. He was on the No Fly List, and there was no way to find out why or to remedy his situation. Mashal knew his Constitutional rights and enlisted the help of the ACLU. He became lead spokesman in a case that ended four years later in the 9th Circuit Federal Court with vindication and removal of six others and himself from the list, as well as court-ordered procedures for US citizens to challenge a wrongful position on no-fly lists. His experiences were documented in his book No Spy No Fly.

He will speak about his life, experiences of being on the No Fly List, and how the federal government tried to blackmail him as a way of getting him off the No Fly List.
